The Gunners, named after Royal Arsenal Complex was established in October 1886 by David Danskin and fifteen workers from South East London (formerly Woolwich). Like other sporting brands, Gunners have had the opportunity of rebranding on many occasions. In 1893, the club changed name to Woolwich Arsenal upon becoming a limited liability company. Also, the year 1913 saw another change of name to “The Arsenal” after relegation back to the second division. In subsequent years, Arsenal dropped “The” from its name beginning with official documentations and adopted the current name – Arsenal Football Club, that it uses till date.
